Description

Under the direction of the Events Manager, the Banquet Server is responsible for set up, execution, and break-down of all The Mansion at Keuka Lake events and to assist guests while providing a satisfying, luxurious high-quality food and beverage service experience.

Job Duties / Responsibilites

Set up event space as outlined in the Banquet Event Order.
Set tables prior to guest arrival with appropriate utensils, tablecloths, condiments etc.
Understand and be able to describe the specific food and beverage menu for every event.
Prepare cocktails as ordered and bring to guests or deliver orders to Bartender.
Run food from kitchen with trays or by hand, as needed.
Complete all side work and daily cleaning tasks.
Adhere to cleaning duties required at end of shift.
Remove dishes and glasses from tables and take to kitchen during meals.
Report all issues in the dining area to restaurant management team.
Maintain the cleanliness of the service area.
Attend all mandatory training and meetings.
Maintain positive and helpful attitude with all guests and The Mansion at Keuka Lake employees.
Maintain a professional demeanor and adhere to proper dress policy, as defined in the Employee handbook.
Able to remain in control during high volume situations.
Performs other duties as required or assigned by management.

Education / Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

High School Diploma or equivalent and minimum of one year serving experience in a fast paced, high volume restaurant operations or an equivalent (i.e., Previous customer service, banquet/events/catering serving or fine dining serving experience).
Must be flexible in scheduling and have open weekend availability.
Excellent verbal communication skills
Ability to multi-task effectively under fast-paced working conditions
Ability to maintain neat, professional and clean appearance and practices
Ability to work while standing for long periods of time
Ability to work in a team environment with other servers, host, bartenders, chefs and other The Mansion at Keuka Lake employees
Ability to adhere to proper food regulation standards and health and safety standards
High level of professionalism and passion for the hospitality industry
Anticipate guest needs. Flexibility pertaining to guest needs and hourly schedules
Knowledge and understanding of workplace safety procedures
Must be capable of following directions
Must possess good recall and memory.
Must be able to speak, read and write English.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently standing, walking, listening, balancing, reading and speaking.
Frequently walking distances of 10 to 30 ft., between various areas of restaurant. Frequently walking distances up to 500 ft.
Frequently using wrist motion, dexterity, and eye-hand coordination, reaching, twisting and balancing.
Frequently carrying up to 35 lbs.

Working Conditions

Work performed indoors and outdoors with occasional hot and cold temperature changes. Employee will be required to stand on concrete or decking floors, tiles/mats and walk on uneven or wet surfaces. Employee may be exposed to secondhand smoke and kitchen odors. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
